    Employer Branding: an Islamic Perspective

This paper discusses employer branding from an Islamic perspective. Islam is away of life and so do the employer and employee relationship, which strengthensemployer branding in an organization. The definition, importance and processrelated to employer branding are discussed in the context of human resource management, such as job satisfaction and work environment. In addition to that, related human resource management practices such as recruitment andselection were discussed in an Islamic context. Related concepts such as employeevalue proposition (EVP), ethics and Islamic values were discussed with referencefrom Al-Quran and Hadith. The paper concludes with a few suggestions andrecommendations on instilling Islamic values for effective employer branding

Promoting Rhema Tours and Travel's Holyland Tours Using a Marketing Booklet

Rhema Tours and Travel is a travel agency located in Jalan Jemursari 234A that specializes in Christian pilgrimage trips. It offers tours to Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Europe. There were only a few people who know about Rhema Tours and Travel. This is probably due to ineffective promotional tools. Rhema Tours and Travel had brochures and company profiles to promote their Holy-land tours. However, those promotional tools are not very effective since they did not highlight the uniqueness of Rhema's Holy Land Tours. Therefore, I made a marketing booklet to serve as an effective promotional tool that can promote Rhema's Holy Land tours to customers by highlighting its uniqueness

A Guidebook on How to Be Students in an American University for Students of Alfalink Overseas Study and English Course

In the internship program, I worked at West Alfalink which is located at Ruko Rich Palace kav. I-1 Jl. MayjenSungkono 149-151. Alfalink is an overseas education consultant / agent and English language center. In this company, I found three problems. One of them is no guidebook for students who choose the USA to do their overseas study. By looking at this condition, I decided to make the USA guidebook for Alfalink's students. It can be an effective tool for the company to give detailed information for the students. By providing this guidebook, Alfalink and students can get a lot of benefits. First, Alfalink's staff do not need to give long explanation to the students and to new staff. Second, Alfalink can use it as a promotional tool. Last, students can get complete information about the USA

Input Fast-Forwarding for Better Deep Learning

This paper introduces a new architectural framework, known as input fast-forwarding, that can enhance the performance of deep networks. The main idea is to incorporate a parallel path that sends representations of input values forward to deeper network layers. This scheme is substantially different from "deep supervision" in which the loss layer is re-introduced to earlier layers. The parallel path provided by fast-forwarding enhances the training process in two ways. First, it enables the individual layers to combine higher-level information (from the standard processing path) with lower-level information (from the fast-forward path). Second, this new architecture reduces the problem of vanishing gradients substantially because the fast-forwarding path provides a shorter route for gradient backpropagation. In order to evaluate the utility of the proposed technique, a Fast-Forward Network (FFNet), with 20 convolutional layers along with parallel fast-forward paths, has been created and tested. The paper presents empirical results that demonstrate improved learning capacity of FFNet due to fast-forwarding, as compared to GoogLeNet (with deep supervision) and CaffeNet, which are 4x and 18x larger in size, respectively. All of the source code and deep learning models described in this paper will be made available to the entire research communityComment: Accepted in the 14th International Conference on Image Analysis and Recognition (ICIAR) 2017, Montreal, Canad

The mechanics of ultrasonic tube bending

The technology of precision bending of tubes has recently increased in importance and is widely demanded for many industrial applications. However, whilst attention has been concentrated on automation and increasing the production rate of the bending machines, it seems that with one exception very little work has been done in order to understand and therefore fundamentally improve the bending process. A new development for the process of draw-bending of tubes, in which the supporting mandrel is axially vibrated at an ultrasonic frequency, has been perfected. A research programme was undertaken to study the mechanics of tube• bending under both vibratory and non-vibratory conditions. For this purpose, a conventional tube-bending machine was modified and equipped with an oscillatory system. Thin-walled mild steel tubes of different diameter to thickness ratios were bent to mean bend radii having various values from 1.5 to 2.0 times the tube diameter. It was found that the application of ultrasonic vibration reduces the process forces and that the force reduction increases with increasing the vibration amplitude. A reduction in the bending torque of up to 30 per cent was recorded and a reduction in the maximum tube-wall thinning of about 15 per cent was observed. The friction vector reversal mechanism as well as a reduction in friction account for the changes of the forces and the strains. Monitoring the mandrel friction during bending showed, in some cases, that the axial vibration reverses the mandrel .mean force from tension to compression and, thus, the mandrel is assisting the tube motion instead of resisting it. A theory has been proposed to describe the mechanics of deformation during draw-bending of tubes, which embodies the conditions of both "with" and "without" mandrel axial vibration. A theoretical analysis, based on the equilibrium of forces approach, has been developed in which the basic process parameters were taken into consideration. The stresses, the strains and the bending torque were calculated utilising this new solution, and a specially written computer programme was used to perform the computations. It was shown that the theory is in good agreement with the measured values of the strains under vibratory and non-vibratory conditions. Also, the predicted bending 'torque showed a similar trend to that recorded experimentally

Optimization of injection molding parameter of ti-6al-4v powder mix with palm stearin and polyethylene for the highest green strength by using taguchi method

This paper present the Taguchi method of L27 (313) orthogonal array as a tool in optimization of Metal injection molding (MIM) parameters for the highest green strength. Injection pressure, injection temperature, powder loading, mold temperature, holding pressure and injection speed are Parameters to be optimized. Besides those, interaction of the injection pressure, injection temperature and powder loading were studied. The metal powder of Ti-6Al-4V is mixed with binder 60wt% of palm stearin and 40wt% of polyethylene successfully injected at optimum parameter condition: 350 bar of injection pressure, 140oc of injection temperature, 65vol% of powder loading, 50oc of mold temperature, 600 bar of holding pressure, and 10ccm/s of the injection rate. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) for the best signal to noise ratio (S/N) presents the contribution of the parameters to the quality characteristic (green strength). Results show that the mold temperature has highest significant percentage (27.59%) followed by powder loading (15.44%) and injection pressure (12.30%) Nevertheless, the analysis of variance does not show any contribution from interaction
